How To Make Drinking Wine Outside Painless

It is so easy to enjoy wine when you’re indoors. You can select your best wine glasses, lay everything you need out on a steady table, not have to worry about leaves and such getting in your drink and then you can easily wash up when you’ve finished. The same cannot be said for having a drink outside however, which is a shame as relaxing with a glass of wine in the great outdoors is something that everyone should be able to experience. Here is some advice on how to make this reality as painless as possible

Wine bags. The hardest thing is transporting your wine and keeping it cool at the same time. You could use a traditionally cool bag but heavy bottles of wine tend to move around a lot in these bags and either squash all in their path or break. Specially designed wine bags allow you to individually pack wine bottles, maintain consistent moisture levels and keep temperature consistent. This also makes them ideal wine gifts

Acrylic glasses. It is not a great idea to be taking drinking vessels when you go somewhere fora quick drink. There is always a risk in breaking these very fragile items and they can be pretty heavy so I would be wary when travelling large distances. Cheap plastic glasses always alter the taste of good tasting wine so it might be an idea to try and purchase something like high quality acrylic glasses which wont be as bad

Disposable Dinnerware. It’s pretty common to take some food with you if you are drinking outside and much the same as with the wine glasses, you don’t want to bring your best quality heavy dinnerware. What is better is that you don’t have to wash them up after you are done. There are special cloths that you can purchase for cleaning your wine glasses and you can normally get these from any food or drink shop in town

Why You Need A Wine Map

The number of people who are really into wine is definitely on the increase. It is very easy to get drawn into the world of wine and before people know it, they are full blown wine enthusiasts. They’ve invested in a vintage collection of wine wines, they’ve converted their spare room into a storage cellar, bought a selection of different wine glasses so that they can get the maximum enjoyment of each wine variety, and have all the necessary tableware gadgets for opening and pouring their wine.

A great many wine enthusiasts don’t actually know much about the actual origins and variations in growing condition of the wines they drink and for that they need a wine map. Gone are the days when wine maps were rough guides on various wine areas, and instead we now have quality maps that have been researched and updated regularly. The California wine map for example is updated every year due to the complicated layout of the area, especially after Napa Valley was officially recognized as an American Viticultural Area in 1981. This news brought the total AVAs in the area up to a staggering 108, which all vary in their wine materials and production.

You could of course just rely on the information on each bottle or the recommendations of friends when buying a bottle, but the true wine expert should know exactly where the grapes came from and why they taste the way they do. It is even more important if you decide to visit and area of wine production to have a wine map with you as things can get a little confusing if you don’t. There are so many different factors that go into defining a wine’s taste and lots of them overlap between various vineyards and production areas. A wine map will allow you to not only understand the wines better but also identify where the tastes and aromas coming from your wine glasses originated
